Hey gang...

Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is John and I live in Boynton Beach (between West Palm and Ft. Lauderdale). I have lived in South Florida for just about 2 years now, borned and raised in the Maryland suburbs of DC. I am 41 and have been married since 10/05 to my wonderful and supportive wife, Amy. We have a great life together, nice house not far from the beach, great jobs, and 2 great cats (no kids and dont want any). I was refered to this website by a friend and have to admit that theres a lot of great information here. I am scheduled to have my bypass surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston on 3/27. I'm really looking forward to getting it over with and starting my new life. One of my goals is to learn to surf. I've always loved the ocean, spent a good part of my summers growing up on the beaches of Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. I'm looking to make new friends here and to provide support (as well as recieve it) when and where I can. Please feel free to say hi. I will write more after my surgery and let everyone know how I'm doing. Thanks for reading.

Dear John, Just wanted to let you know that you are welcome. These boards are very helpful and people seem to really want to help. I am happy about your date. I just got my date yesterday. Hi John, I am kinda new to the group as well. And I must say it is awesome. We are very supportive of eachother. I feel like I can realy relate here. So I love it and I am sure you will also. My date is 4/5. Soits close. My mother had her surgery done at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston in July of 2003. And it went very well. So I wish you luck. And I will send up a prayer for you.

Hi John, Welcome and congrats on your date on Monday. I had trouble getting approved but I am coming up on 1 year on the 25th of March (Saturday). My highest pre-op was 335 - day of surgery 324 and today I am at 210. Trying hard to get under 200 but I feel fantastic and my diabetes it considered cured.
