What the true storey about the stinky stuff? I keep hearing about odors caused by the new plumbing. Does everybody get this? How long after surgery does it hit? Does it ever go away? My grandaughter who's three has no qualms about telling people they reek. I can just imagine her in cute but very loud baby voice announce to the world, My Gammie reeks! I wi**** were selective, there are a few people I'd like to lay a few (brown) clouds in revenge. my ex in particular on our second day of our honeymoon we were laying in bed and he said I bet I could spit straight up and hit the ceiling. Me like a dumbass dove under the cover where he pinned me.....and let it rip. I should have known what the rest of my life with him was going to be then! But i really would like to know if this is something everyone has. If it is, I'm investing in Devrom!

I prefer to call it the green fog. LOL I have had it since surgery and still suffer 2 years later. MY most horid experience is when I was asleep with the a new BF and one sliped out..... I thought he would die. Sometimes it is so bad that my cats leave the room. LOL the joy of RNY!! but I still would do it again. Heather

Sandi, Don't panic, not everyone has problems with overly smelly gas (I call them "fatal farts"). It is a by-product of undigested foods, especially carbs. On the occasions when my toots are a bit more "fragrant" than normal, I can usually trace it back to a high carb day or 2. So I just remind myself not to over-indulge in the carbs, which is an especially good thing for me to remember b/c I dump on too many carbs or too much fat, and it clears up. If you have a problem with fatal farts, and modifying your diet doesn't help, then you might want to pursue other options. Vickie J.

I don' think it's an issue for me since surgery, but I'm sure the DH would beg to differ.

I think - the bm's are worst than the gas releases though it can be more powerful at one time or another and who knows when it's gonna hit!!! So our loved ones have to run for COVER!! The other FUNNY thing you will experience as all of us can tell ya - is the gurgling noises and rumbling of your GI tract....I hear louder than other times and sometimes its embarrassing!! OOhh well as heather said - the joys of the RNYer

I am happy to say I've not had problems with smelly gas! I have had tons of belching and I'm happy to say that although it's not lady like at least it doesn't smell! Good luck, Rhonda
