Hi everyone! Well I'm stuck - literally and figuratively speaking. For the last 2 nights I have been getting sick while having dinner . I have been coming along since the last out patient event where they dilated me for the stricture. On both nights I choose to have a hamburger and steam veggies. I have had hamburger in the past, and I chew the hell out of it, but for whatever the reason ( I know what might have cause one of em) I became violently sick and had to run to the I can't stomach eggs or chicken and frankly I'm trying to adjust. I also know that both th/f I didn't drink enough. Could this be part of the reason or am I going back down that path of my pouch closing up again? I'm 3 months post op as of last weds and I have lost 82lbs. Only 70 more to go but that's another thing. I literally haven't lost a lb since my last visit with Dr Rosenthal on 2/17 (my birthday). Thanks for reading this and posting! Barbi

Hi Barbi--Oh I hate that stuck feeling. Maybe your pouch is working in the manner it was intended. I am almost three years out and can just now eat a very small hamburg--no roll. Eggs were one of the last things I was able to tolerate and even now one egg is just about all I can eat. Many people have problems with chicken. I only eat it with lots of sauce on it. Actually--almost everything I ate for ages had to be severely moistened with sauce. At three months out I was still eating ground hamburg in spagetti sauce (still one of my favorites), cheese, cottage cheese and yogurt. Congrats on your weight loss--your new picture looks great. I was looking at your profile and see that you mentioned a support group in Naples--is it open to anyone? Oh--btw--I love golf and have a miserable swing also

Hi Lynda - I only had about 3 bites of the burger - chewed it to death and the same goes for the broccoli - I haven't had any problems with burger meat since it's ground up. I do admit I do better with Chilli but I have been concerned. Last night, while I didn't get sick I did have that sensation of the pouch being full and extended. I choose to just have a yogurt for dinner. I guess I'm beginning to get bored with the foods I've been eating and I'm trying to add more variety @ the expense of my pouch. RE: the support group - we meet @ Cleveland clinic Naples on the 3rd Tuesday of the month. Our next meeting will be 3/21. We meet in the Physician's dining room near the cafeteria. (ironic huh?) It's open to anyone who has had wls. I enjoy Golf - haven't played since moving to FL 6 yrs ago due to my obesity. I want to get back out there after season end (when I can afford to play) Hope to see you @ the next meeting. Barbi

Barb--Sorry to hear you ended up with other health issues. Hope things are better now. No--I didn't make it to the meeting--I have had a house full of guests for several weeks.

Barbi, Hi! I can't really comment much on your problem with the strictures or food issues because I am still preop and of course haven't had any of the problems you mention but....I just wanted to say that you look wonderful! Your new pic is great! Hang in there lady and good luck with your golf game! Kat

Kathy - you're a sweetie! I hope all goes well for you with your upcoming surgery! I ended up calling the dr this afternoon. The pain and discomfort are getting to be to much! I'm being seen by the dr tomorrow afternoon. For some unforgivable reason I decided to try a bite of tilapia my mother made - needless to say - I have a bus parked on my chest. Sipping some hot apple cin tea to see if everything relaxes.

Barbi, I sure hope that your doc figures it all out and gets you up and running again! I am really sorry that you are still feeling so poorly. Please keep us posted and let us know what he finds and above all else FEEL BETTER! I can hardly wait until I have my surgery and start to see a real change in myself. Even though I have lost 41 lbs I can't really tell a difference except in the way my clothes fit and that I fit easier in the scooter at WalMart. Once again you look great! Hang in there girl! Kat
