question re: tampa area surgeons

I had Renhke and I was very pleased. There's also Dr. Murr who I hear is a very good doctor too. I don't think you can go wrong with either of these doctors. Keke

I live in Clearwater and I've just about completed my 6 month required diet with Humana as I'm in the process of using Dr.Ernest Rehnke, at the Palms of Pasadena Hospital in St.Petersburg. Plus he and the hospital just received the "Center of Excellence" Award. Not that it matters to your insurance but anyone using Medicare & associated insurances as of Feb.21st, 2006 has to use a "Center of Excellence" Hospitals & Surgeons to receive any WLS. Hey Momma S, I am in Tampa and have heard great things about Dr. Murr at TGH and my surgeon is phenominal!!! Dr. Fernandez at TNC!! I hear another TNC affiliate, Dr. Gutierrez is good too. I am sure you will find a gr8 one as there are an array of them here Good luck! ~Phoenix 287/154/145

I had Dr. Murr and he is so great and his staff. You do have to go through a work-up through a cardiologist, and several others that he refers you to. TGH I had great care, was in hospital 4 days and then home stayed an xtra day because I live in Lee county. I would suggest you attend both of their info sessons and group meetings and talk first hand with some patients also check to see if the Dr. and Hospitals except your insurrance Nancy

I had lap band surgery with Dr Rehnke last December. I am very pleased with him and his staff. Enjoying great results!

I would highly recommend either Dr. Rick Gordon or Dr. John Paul Gonzalvo. They perform surgery at Morton Plant Hospital. Their office is in Largo. Advanced Surgical Associates 586-3751 Julie
