Sarasota/Manatee Counties Lap Band group

Lap band Support Group In Sarasota/Manatee Counties FLorida? I am looking for a general lap band support group that is open to all, no matter who their doc is. I am in the Sarasota, FL area. Anyone know of one that meets? Or where might the next closest be?

Mary, There is a group that meets in Bradenton that is non-surgeon specific and welcomes everyone at every stage. I went in February for the first time and it was wonderful! I am RNY but there were folks there from all over Florida with all types of surgery. The site is Manatee-SarasotaWLS on yahoo groups. The next meeting is the March 14 at six pm.(second Tuesday). The meeting is held at the Public Library on 26th Street West near Bayshore Blvd. Hope to meet you! Vicky
