WLS and hot flashes?

Okay I was wondering if my WLS has anything to do with me getting these really strange hot flashes lately. I thought I was getting sick, but I am wondering if it is related to my surgery. FYI, i am 30 years old, so I am pretty confident I have not hit menapause! Ocaisionaly I will be sitting around doing nothing and I will flush from the bottom of my toes to the top of my head and feel really hot. A coworker commented that she could see my face feeling red! I had heard that estrogen can be released during massive weight loss, could this causeme to have hot flashes?

I am old enough for hot flashes but never had a problem with them before WLS. I have found that often after eating I have had a mini hot flash. I had to leave a restaurant yesterday because it got way to warm for me but not anyone else.

I don't have a for sure answer for you. But, I would agree that you are on the right track about hormonal changes after WLS. I would give it time and see how it plays out. How is your menstrual cycle? Seen any changes with that? We store hormones in our fat so naturally losing fat with throw things off kilter. Good luck to you. Char

Well I suffer from PCOS and get my period very rarely ( about 4 x a year) I know weightloss can hellp to "fix" PCOS and I am hoping this is the case with me. I have cut down on my caffine intake as well hoping this will help, I don't think my large Latte Lite from Dunkin Doughnuts was helping every morning ( but they are sooo yummy and made with splenda!) I will see how this helps!
