Has anyone had the Nissen Fundoplication in the past and than years later had the lap band? Did the Nissen need to be undone?

I had the nissen fundoplication, and no you cannot have the band, the wrap cannot be undone, as per my doctor, it is too ridgid, the nerve is too fragil and too critical to the entire digestive system to be tampered with, that is the justification for 9 bariatirc surgeons to refer me to him for a DS and for AETNA and TRIRCARE both to grant me special authoriazation for a DS and not a rny cant have that either, the fundus is part of the wrap, too,no pouch available. And that the Barretts Esophagas that promped you to get the wrap in the first place is still there, once there always there, hope you are still getting your bi anual edo's. at least, that is the standard of care, a band would be the davils advocate with your potential for geard ,taking down the wrap, restart of the the barraretts, and the cancers that comes with it. I have in my persuit of wls surgery, and the DS, inerviewed 9 surgeons. from the east coast to alabama, to oregon, and only two have dealt with our situation, DR Gagner, and Dr Herron, both at Mt Sania, in NYC and both on the same Patient, and he was co worker of mine. small world, and thats how I am able to get my union to force aetna to pay for my DS.
