My Famous Cabbage Soup
hello evryone!!! Here is the soup recipe that I promised. After the soup is made, you can have the broth when on liquids, then add more beef broth later when you can have much, put it in a blender. Then, as you can add more tender meat, you can have for the regular diet and it will also keep you regular!!!HeHe!! I make alot as you will see, and I freeze some of it too.
Lyn's Cabbage Soup
(2) heads of cabbage-med size-shredded(or two pkgs. of the already shredded for cole slaw in the grocer's store.
(4) Boxes of the beef broth-low soduim
(2) Cans of Low sodium French Onion soup
(1) Can of Low sodium tomato soup
(1) small bottle of Sugar Free Ketchup
(2)tablespoons of Mrs. Dash orig. seasoning
(1) or (2) teaspoons of chili powder (your taste)
(1) teaspoon of paprika and about two good shakes of parsley from the container or chop fresh a little more.
Put all liquids into 6 quart pot and bring to boil-place cabbage into pot-turn down to low heat- put in all seasonings-let cook for about three hours.
Options- You can also add carrots but cook till they are done.-Later on add well done & tender pot roast. Can be put in blender for a good mushie!! Char, so sorry that I didnt get back with you sooner! Our PC crashed and just got it up and running. It will, the cabbage soup, will give you a little gas but it didnt effect me as bad as my husband! LOL If you make it and eat it, wait awhile or have it in the evening. t is really good and I could eat it every day. I kkep alot in the freezer. Good luck with it! Lyn
