Any info on Dr. Tenewitz in Melbourne

I have heard some serious allegations about him. I see that his office is closed. Does anyone know what is going on? Has he turned his records over to a different surgeon? Thanks for the link..geez I totally missed that. I do not think he did anything intentional..just my opinion. It will be interesting to see how all of this plays out. I am almost 3 years out and the only thing I was seeing him for was my bloodwork slips. I guess I can get that through my PCP. Char

I had gone to one of his seminars. He seemed like a nice guy and his patients certainly loved him. I was going to have him do my surgery, but his staff would not even give me an appointment until I had gone through their "insurance class" and they kept resheduling that. Then one day I got a call from his office telling me they were having trouble with the hospital and they were not doing any gastric bypass surgeries until they found a new hospital. That was over a year ago. The person I spoke to told me they expected to have a new hospital in a couple of months. It was at this point that I figured something was up and decided I needed to look elsewhere and I discovered the duodenal switch and decided to have that surgery. Red

I was informed that he could no longer do bypass surgery as his death rate was too high. This information came from someone who lives in Melbourne who is looking to have gastric bypass surgery. She is now planning to have her surgery over here in Clearwater at Morton Plant Hospital.
