Update: 1 month post op readmitting to hospital

Good morning everyone. I went to see Dr Rosenthal yesterday for my 1 month post op appt and he was ready to readmit me on the spot, however, I had my parents with me and nowhere to stay. So This morning I'm packing and heading back to Cleveland Clinic in Weston because I'm dehydrated, can't keep even my protein shakes down, I'm nauseou, I have pain in my belly, that wasn't there post op, and he believes I could either have an ulcer or possibly the new stoma opening is smaller than the required 9mm. At some point this afternoon or tomorrow, I will have an upper gi and an endoscopy to determine what's happening. While I am not happy about this set back, I know in my heart that this was the right decision for me. I'm nervous, crying alot, short tempered and scared. Please keep me in your prayers. Barbi

Wow ... Good luck, Barbara. I hope it turns out to be something they can fix easily so you can begin your recovery. Just keep thinking of the end 'price' ... normalcy!

Hey Barb, Just wanted to let you know that you are in my prayers. I hate things are not going so good but I believe God will see you through. I am in the process of trying to have the surgery. I can't wait. If there is anything I can do just holler! God Bless. Crystal

HI Everyone. Thanks so much for the kind words and prayers. I am writing to you from my room @ Cleveland Clininc - Weston (#342) where this afternoon I had an endoscopy done and a balloon was inserted down my throat to expand the opening to my pouch by about 1mm. I'm a little sore from all the air they pumped into me but I actually felt a little hungry this evening. I was able to keep some broth and a few ice chips down without getting nauseous. I will be going home tomorrow - supposedly and then I am suppose to have this procedure repeated between 2-3 weeks. My head is still not clear but I'm up anyway trying to walk away the gas. I really do hope this is the only bump in the road. None the less I am still glad I did this. Sweet Dreams Everyone Barbi
