HELP!!
I AM JUST OVER 2 WEEKS POST OP AND FEELING SO NAUCIOUS ALL THE TIME, I HEAR THIS CAN BE NORMAL, BUT I AM HAVING A VERY HARD TIME FACING FOOD AND THE OTHER THING IS I JUST CAN'T FACE MY CHEWABLE VITAMINS. I HAVE THE BUILDING BLOCKS AND THEY ARE TOTALLY GROSSING ME OUT. IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE WHO HAD DR MAREMA OR PEREZ AT US BARIATRICS THAT MAY HAVE OTHER SUGGESTION FOR THE VITAMINS, I WAS CHECKING THE VISTA ONES ON BARIATRICEATING.COM. I KNOW I SHOULD TALK TO MY DOCTOR ABOUT IT AND I WILL, BUT IT'S ALWAYS GOOD TO GET FEEDBACK FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN THROUGH THE SAME SYMPTOMS. PLEASE WRITE A.S.A.P.
THANKS.
JOANNE
Joanne,
I had Dr. Marema for Lap band. The office is use to patients with questions, especially post op. You should have received a prescription for anti-nausea medication before surgery. Call them. They don't want you to be in any discomfort or have any unanswered questions. Just give them a call, speak with one of the nurses. I hope you feel better soonl.

Hey Joanne
I am not quite 2 weeks out and used Dr. Kim with US Bariatrics in Celebration. He did not allow us to take the chewable but instead had us take the Centrum Adult Liquid for the first two weeks. I am to take the Building Blocks after the g-tube is removed on 1/5/06. I was told that not getting enough fluids would cause nausea, which I have not had at all. Dr. Kim said to get 80 grams of protein and 80 ounces of water each day in these first two weeks and I have not been sick at all (once I left the hospital).
But as others said, I would call the office just in case it is something more serious! Are you getting the 80 ounces of liquids????
Pam
In myprofile you will see that I had problems with vitamins too. Had to switch for a while till I found one I could tolerate. I had to get rid of the chewable building blocks, gave them away, couldn't stand the taste post op. Tried some of the liquid vitamins from bariatriceating.com and that worked well, and now I take the vista vitamins from bariatriceating.com and tolerate them real well.
The nausea can be from the anesthesia too. Eating too fast, or just getting used to the pouch.Possibly sugar is a culperite (sp?). My doc gave me an antacid for the first month, pepcid. ask your doc.
Hope you feel better, and so glad to have you on the losers bench!
Blessings,
Tami
