If anyone works for a great company whose insurance covered WLS/DS, please share..especially if they are hiring! I'm not entirely crazy about my job so I'd more than happily make the switch to a different one if it covered WLS/DS, even for less money (although I don't think it's possible to be paid less than what I make ) Thanks, Jen

Jen, There are many reputable insurance companies who cover WLS. Many also require supervised 6 month diets and specific testing (stress, psychological, etc) prior to the approval, so even if you find a new job with good insurance, there might be some hoops to jump through to get approved. The main thing most insurance companies require is that you need to have a BMI higher than 35 and some other health issues related to your obesity like HBP, diabetes, heart problems, circulatory problems, etc. Have you considered Disney, Seaworld or Universal as you look for a new job? I have heard ads on TV and radio lately that they are hiring, along with others. There are also lots of call centers (Disney Travel, Marriott Vacation Club, Convergys, etc) hiring in our area which are desk jobs and great for people who are struggling with joint pain from obesity. The one other thing to find out when you are considering surgery is if your own company has a rider in the policy preventing WLS. There have been some instances on this board where an individual called and confirmed their insurance covered WLS then they found out their actual company didn't have it covered in their policy. Anyway, good luck to you in your search...finding a good job where you are valued and feel good is critical first, then worry about finding the insurance. Take care, Amy -200lb.
