Get Together with Tampa/Brandon area

I would love to meet and talk with some of the local people in the Tampa area. If there are any meetings or just meet for a cup of coffe that would be great. I am going to have my surgery with Dr. Murr in Tampa and I would love to meet others.

Paula, Welcome to the Journey as many have made. I'm into my fourth month of the 6 month Supervised diet that my insurance Humana requires. And I'm looking forward to hopefully April or May 2006. I live in Clearwater but travel to a group of very helpfuls that have become my friends while traveling on my journey. There hasn't been much in postings lately due to the Seasons, but we meet every month in the Brandon area. And most have used Dr.Murr. I'm using Dr.Rehnke in St.Petersburg. Hello Paula: I had WLS, with Dr. Murr on Dec. 6th. 20 days ago!! I cannot drive yet, haven't been cleared... but as soon as I am able, I would like to meet you at Tampa General Hospital for one of Dr. Murr's support groups. Lila Barry

I had my bypass on 10/05/05 by Dr Gallagher and Murr. I'm in the Brandon area. Getting together for coffee sounds good! I'm down 40lbs from surgery and 80lbs total! Tammie

I am new to the site too, and have my first appt scheduled with Dr. Murr on Jan 9. I have been hoping to meet ppl in the area that are going thru this also. When will you be having surgery?

Thank You all for your response. I have been out of touch for the holidays but I am now back and ready for a new year and a new me. I checked out that link you gave me ...Thanks Mike!! I will hopefully get to meet all of you there. I am also going to the next meeting this month for Dr. Murr's office. I believe its every second Thursday. I will see you there.
