You guys are scaring me...
Sooo glad to hear your "g" story! I think I will have to just try and forget it is there too. That is what I had to do with the PICC line. At first I fussed over it. Worrying about keeping it safe etc. Of course I hurt alot too because of the skin tears and blisters but after we straightened that all out, I just started to ignore the thing and am doing much better with it now.
If it indeed does resolve my nausea, it will be my best friend anyway!

Sallykate,
Honestly... if you just ignore the tube it will be much better.. I had issue with blisters from having it taped to my stomache but I switched tape and it cleared up.. Remember to keep the tube anchored tight to your body so it doesnt move around too much.. It helps keep the tube from moving..
I kept my g-tube a week longer then I had to just for the nausea help.. It gave my pouch a little more time to heal without being flooded with water and protein all the time.. Just use the tube like they say too... its worth the little discomfort you may experience.. and hey, it might very well help keep the nausea under control while you heal.. It sure did for me!

I'm sorry you are having this complication. Don't worry about a g-tube if you have one inserted, it will actually make your life easier and help with healing.
Do you have a silastic ring in place around your pouch?
I ask because I remember reading a story about a woman who was constantly sick, couldn't hold down anything, and this went on for months. Finally a doctor discovered that her silastic ring was folding in everytime she tried to eat.
Sorry, I can't remember where I read that story. Just something to consider.
Hugs for you,
Karen
Sooooo good to hear from you girlfriend!!! hugs!
Don't stress over the g-tube. Just another little annoying but necessary tool. With what you've endured its nothing. Just bothersome to have a tube at the waist line where our clothes bother it. You will work around it and be just fine!
I pray all goes well with the doctor visit, and if surgery is necessary that you heal up quickly. Great job on the walking and weight loss! woo-hoo!!!
I pray your christmas will be filled with God's presence and blessings. You are doing great, and God is holding you up through all of this. Keep your light shining!
Merry Christmas with love,
Tami
SallyKate - do not be afraid - everyone has different pain levels and situations - don't compare yourself. And each person can have a unique situation. I pray that you get through this - and I'm glad to hear that despte the little problems now you are feeling upbeat about the whole situation. Keep following the doc's orders to the T - and this will be but a distance memory (just post on your profile to help others). I had opnen RNY and that did not involve any kinds of tubes except the NG tube during the first 2 1/2 days then it was "smooth" sailing after that so I can't offer any advice - I'm praying for you that i won't be as difficult for you and pray that your recovery is soon and you'll be able to continue your journey - complication free. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Hi SallyKate....
Tell me what you're feeling - I'm 24 days post op and have a constant feeling of naseau and can't keep anything down. I constantly hicup and a little while later I throw up.
I'm scare because this has been going on since the surgeon said I could introduce "solids" as part of my phase III diet.
Today alone I've thrown up 4 times - the last time all I had was a popcycle.
I will be praying for you. Merry Christmas and God Bless us all
Barbi
