Hi Joanne, I had severe nausea for 7 months and only thing I could depend on was Atkins or LoCarb Slimfast with one scoop of Unflavored Unjury (unjury.com). That was 20 grams in either drink and another 20 of Unjury 3 times a day. That was 120 grams a day which worked wonderful for me of course I was taking Zofran 8mg. 2x day for nausea. In Aug I had my pouch stretched and all has been well since. I can eat just about anything I want now but I still take at least 2 drinks a day with Unjury. Sorry you are having a rough time but this will pass.

Joanne, Is the doctor having you use your g-tube for nourishment/protein or just as a drain? It's totally normal to feel nauseous at this time. Call your doctor for advice, that's what they are there for, and paid for. I had to call mine several times that 1st month out You don't want to get dehydrated. I too was overwhelmed and even regretful during that 1st week, I promise it gets better. And don't feel bad about asking questions, we've all been in your shoes Hang in there. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Big Hugs!!! Dru

Joanne, sip on the recommended shake from Abby. 2 cans a day is 70 grams of protein. I am just getting that much now. I am suppost to get 80something to 100 and something a day. stick to the liquids till you break the nausea and take small sips. If it doesn't work call the nurse or the on call doctor. Be careful how much free advice you take from these posts. Your doctor has a set program for you and will give you all the aftercare help you need. I called them a few times. They were very helpful and always on target. All programs are different. Nausea can be from surgery or dehydration. Call the nurse. Lisa
