COLONOSCOPY POST SURGERY

Has anyone had a colonoscopy post surgery? I was on a clear liquid diet the day before the colonoscopy. Between 6pm and 6:45 I took 16 Visicol pills to start the evacuation. (Nothing happened!) Between 7am and 7:45am the day of the colonoscopy I took another 16 visicols. Finally at 8am the evacuation process started. The procedure was at noon. When I woke up I was told that my prep for the surgery didn't work well enough and that I'd have to have another colonoscopy with a 2 day clear liquid diet prior and probably both the visicol pills and the horrible liquid. I just think I need to start the visicol earlier. Anyone have an experience with this? Rhonda

I had it in August. The pills worked for me. But I think I took them differenty. I think it was every 2 hours. I started the night before and I broke them into 4ths to swallow them. was a total of 30 pills 120 pieces. I really felt full and had trouble swallowing the last group. They were still working early the next morning but I was 'cleaned out" enough for the test. We were afraid to do the liquid. Besides I could not handle the taste. As they say, the prep is worse than the test.
