Isn't it Wednesday yet?

I'm attending a lap-band seminar on Wednesday evening and I'm finding that now that I am home from our week long trip to Disney I'm really impatient to attend the seminar. I am not good at waiting. I have a million questions that I want answered and I want them answered now! It is so weird. I've been secretly toying with the idea of considering WLS for years and was perfectly fine with waiting. But now that I've decided that I'm ready to seriously look into this I want everything right away. Doh! Typical me. Okay ... enough about me. So ... how are my fellow Sunshine Staters liking this weather? I'm over the top with it. I love these few cool fronts and cold snaps ... especially since we're not buried under a bunch of white fluffy stuff to go along with it!

Hi Carole: I know that excitement of wanting to get to that seminar. And, please, if you have any questions that I might be able to answer for you, please email me and I'll be happy to help in any way I can. I researched this surgery for 2 years, got started in March and was banded in November. Its a long journey but well worth the time and effort. And go to more than one seminar. If there are other doctors in your area that do this surgery, go to their seminar too. You have to be as confident about your surgeon as you are about the surgery. When you decide on a surgeon, start attending their support group meetings. My surgeon only has those once a month and that wasn't enough for me so I started my own support group. We're in Jacksonville and if you're ever up this way on the 1st or 3rd Saturday of the month, you'll have to join us. Deal? Let me hear from you. I'll be glad to help in anyway I can. La Wanda

La Wanda, If I am ever lucky enough to be in J-vill on the 1st or 3rd Saturday I'd be honoured to join you! I used to live in the J-ville area and I really liked living there - I miss it. It is so much nicer than the Tampa area. I plan to go to more than one seminar, too. I just really want to hear what this doc has to say because not only is he a lap-band surgeon but he is a lap-band patient as well. Which gives him a unique perspective.

How cool is that.....your surgeon is a lap band patient. Wow. Very interesting. That'd sure narrow down my choices!!! And I was born and raised here in Jacksonville. So, you come on "home" and join us any time you'd like. Let me know if you have any questions you don't get to ask at the seminar and I'll help all I can. I'd be happy to. Later, La Wanda
