HELP! GAGGING SENSATION!
Hi everyone. I'm 8 days post op (Lap-RNY) and I am having a problem taking my metformin and lipitor because the dr wants them crushed. The Dr's office said to mix it with s/f applesauce - but this is making me gag and want to throw up
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get these horse pills down? I don't have an option - I have to take them for my diab and high cholestrol.
Other than being a little tired
which I make sure I rest alot.
Thanks everyone!

Not about the gagging . . . you need to check about the metformin. Crushing may be contraindicated. Check with the endocrinologist. Also, what are your numbers like? I went off the glucophage (metformin) at surgery, never wwent back on, and I was a terribly insulin resistent type two diabetic. Check with your endocrinologist. He may have you defer it for now, considering the difficulty swallowing it. good luck.
