I came across a recipe that appears to be high in protein considering the nuts and tofu. I made it yesterday for guests and we all enjoyed it. Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving Day, we certainly did. Sharon Simple Pecan Pâté Pecans are perfect nuts! Packed with flavor and nutrients, they are excellent sources of protein, fiber, energy-producing carbohydrates, and essential vitamins. This Simple Pecan Pâté recipe demonstrates how deliciously easy and healthy a pecan snack can be. The pleasing flavor of pecans is combined with wholesome walnuts, tofu, and seasonings to make a wonderful dip or spread. Try it on crackers or cucumber and celery slices. Ingredients: 3/4 cup pecans 1 ¾ cups walnuts 1/4 medium red onion 2 large garlic cloves 1 ½ lb. plain firm tofu 2 Tbs. apple cider vinegar 1/2 cup soy sauce 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper 1/2 cup finely chopped parsley Directions: 1.Toast pecans and walnuts in 350 degree oven for 10 minutes. 2.Coarsely chop the onion and garlic. 3.Place all ingredients (except the parsley) in a food processor and process until smooth. 4.Remove from processor and stir in the chopped parsley. Refrigerate until ready to serve

Sounds great! My husbands' family is coming next Friday for an early Christmas. This will really throw them for a loop and they wont want to try it when I tell them to try the Pate'. They will instantly think its liver!
