HELP! I DONT dump/
Oh yes, some surgeons do have their patients on regular food that quickly! But dumping isn't the same as vomiting. It's the reaction you get when you eat too much sugar and it goes directly into your blood stream, causing an awful diabetic reaction that includes a rapid heart rate, sweating, nausea, and an overall feeling of wishing you were dead!! I hear it's awful. Does your surgeon allow sugar in addition to regular food? Each practice is so different!!
Thanks for the explanations!!

I know dumping is not the same thing as vomitting but I've been blessed not to have that occurr when I've had sugar. No my surgeon is against sugar but I have slipped a few times. A few of my friends that have had the surgery dump at the slightest amount of sugar but I don't. Yes.....each practice is definetly different (and I'm learning so much from many people). Take care!

I can tolerate a lot of sugar too. Everyone in my support group and including my surgeon couldn't understand why I could. I am able to eat cake, pie, candy (my bad!!!-Only @ Halloween). People would ask me if I dump and I would tell them "No".
But I will tell you from experience, you will find a food or liquid later on that will have a level of sugar that will cause the dumping symptoms of nausea, sweating, heart racing. Your newly post-op and your body is still adjusting.
Take care.
