I posted a while back that I was experiencing some nausea WELL, the nausea has progressively gotten worse... I am VERY sick all the time. My surgeon put me on Prevacid and another liquid medicine in case I have an ulcer. He expected it to help within 3-5 days. I am well past that point of time and am so terribly sick. When I eat it is compounded times 10! I have quit eating, it hurts too much and I am nauseated to the point of being bedridden for hours when I do try to eat. I do not know what else to do. My surgeon is wanting to scope me badly but cannot do so safely until I am at least 6 weeks out. So I have at least 3 more weeks of this. I talked to the surgeon yesterday and he mentioned admitting me to the hospital for 3 weeks! UGH! We talked some more and decided that if I feel like I am getting dehydrated and want to "give up" fighting it out at home, that I could come in for labs and he would admit for 3 days to hydrate me and then send me home with a PIC line in me so that a home health care nurse could come everyday and give me fluids. I am going to try and fight the water down first. I DO NOT want to go to the hospital!! My kids heard that I might need to go back to the hospital and my daughter said, " no! they cannot have you anymore!" I am so sorry for what I am putting them through. Today I tried a little bit of egg drop soup. 2 teaspoons to be exact but it hurt when I ate it and then the awful nausea AND diahrrea... I am praying that everything will get better SOON! This is not what I imagined for me and my surgery but my God is in control and he will take care of me. I believe that. Anyone been through this? Suggestions are welcome! hoping to feel better soon, Sallykate

Oh Sallykate, I am so sorry to hear you are remaining so sick. I know it is a hardship to have to return to the hospital, but it might be the best solution at this point...at least long enough to get well hydrated. Being dehydrated in and of itself can cause great nausea, so it could be that you are in a situation where you cannot get any relief from the nausea without some medical intervention such as IV hydration. When you get to the point where you can't keep anything down or anything in you it becomes a vicious circle. You remain in my thoughts and prayers. Betti

SallyKate, I am so sorry that you are sick. Are you able to drink protein drinks or maybe even chicken broth? Just try to stay hydrated and rest. Terri

hugs girlfriend, I pray for God's hand of healing to be upon you and His wisdom to your doctor. Be persistant, and don't hesitate to go to the hospital if you need to. Perhaps just going on protein liquids, for a few days? Keep up the prevacid and carafate for the stomach. MIne took longer than a few days to heal. Perhaps this is gall bladder related too? This is just a season ......hugs and blessings, Tami

Sallykate, Sooo sorry to hear you're feeling so poorly. Take care of yourself and if that means checking into the hospital for a few days, do it. Keeping hydrated and healthy is what matters most. I hope you feel better soon! Vickie J.

SallyKate, I am so sorry to hear that you are feeling so poorly and about the constant nausea. Please don't hesitate to go back to the hospital if you aren't feeling better and able to keep some fluids down in the next day or so. It doesn't take long to get dehydrated and once that happens it is hard to rehydrate without medical intervention especially if you can't take anything by mouth. Please be cautious! Hope things start to get better for you! You will be in my thoughts and prayers! Kat

SallyKate, Have been where you are and still am. The full story is on my profile. Sounds like a ulcer and maybe a stricture going on. Keep pushing the fluids. Try a heating pad on your tummy. Lots of prayers going out to you. Keep us update. Hugs, Kat
