Kat, Happy Birthday! BTW - Publix sells a Sugar Free or NSA angel food cake (located in bakery section) that tastes great ! I cut it into 16 small pieces & top a slice with strawberries and a tablespoon of Cool Whip Free - Makes a great dessert! Vickie J.

Well for Thanksgiving I'm going to bake a couple of SF pumpkin pies and hubby and I are going to SallyKate's parents house (both of our families live out of state). For Christmas, I have LOTS of baking plans , lots of new SF recipes to try and my parents and sister are coming down for Christmas. Last year wasn't the best for us (we lost my grandmother who was pillar behind our family Christmas) but this year we are all excited and can't wait! HUGS Kim

I'm parking my butt here at home and my two kids will be here from college. I don't enjoy eating out on Thanksgiving or Christmas so I will be doing lots of cooking. It's actually the only time of the year that I do a lot of cooking. Ya know I am a Florida transplant and everyone says--don't you miss the snow during the holidays? No--not one bit, but it does make it hard sometimes to grasp what season it is. Putting up the decorations while wearing shorts--what is to complain about? This year I am going to fry my turkey again as it came out really great and was soooooooo easy. I make all my desserts using substitute sweetners--except pumpkin pie, which is my kids favorite-but not mine so why bother messing with the sweetner? There are great holiday recipes on Charlie C's website http://wlsholidaydesserts.homestead.com/index.html and Susan Maria's website www.bariatriceating.com I haven't visited this Florida page for a long time cause I've been busy-but I'll try and stop by more often.

Hi guys... For thanksgiving My family will be going to my parents house along with Wild Cat Lady (Kim) and her hubby since their families live out of state. My plans for eating will be simple since I will not even be 4 weeks out by then. I am still in the soft foods stage so ... potatoes and gravy, very soft green beans, maybe a smidgen of dressing and a taste of sugar free pumpkin pie. (much later in the evening of course) For Christmas, this is the first year in about 10years that the whole family will be together. My sister and her hubby and 4 kids are coming home from Turkey to be with all of us. My other sister is coming in from Va. and will stay with me. She has a new baby and a 10 y/o daughter. My brother will be here also with his wife and 3 kids. (about 22 of us) So mom will have a house full! But she loves it. I am sure I will adapt my famous reesies peices to SF for xmas. But I don't even know what I will be eating by then. As of now, I still am sick all the time and cannot stand to eat. So I really am not looking forward to holiday food yet. Happy Holidays everyone! Vickie, Thanks for the Birthday wishes! Also for the info on the angel food cake. My daughter stopped on her way home from work last night and got the strawberries, angel food cake and the fat free cool whip. It was really delicious. Made the best birthday dessert ever! I am not much of a cake eater so this was great no fat and probably less than 200-250 calories! Kat
