I HAVE A PRELIMINARY DATE!!!!! (sorry so long)

I NEVER thought I would be writing that subject line!! After a diasterous appointment at Dr. Jawad's office, and being told that due to surgery 10 years ago for acid reflux, I was pretty much eliminated from wls surgery, I collapsed into a deep, dark depression, and stopped all posting here. I hardly even came to the site because it broke my heart that I couldn't have surgery. Someone told me Dr. Merema took care of problems like mine, so I went online, and contacted US Bariatrics. Robin emailed me back, and told me Dr. Marema does quite a lot of surgery on people like me who have had a Nissan wrap, and surgery was still possible. I didn't want to get my hopes up, so I said nothing, but made an appointment to see him while he was in Celebration yesterday (10/28/05). The office was backed up with appointments since his Lauderdale patients were seeing him here due to the hurricane, but I did not mind the wait one bit. When I was finally brought in, I was weighed, and had my BMI done, and blood pressure taken. Then it was into a room to wait on the doctor, and when he walked in, he shook my hand and asked me "So, what do you want from ME?" That immediately put me at ease, and I knew I was in the right place. Dr. Marema took all the time in the world with me, like he had no other patients, and after answering in depth everything I wanted to know, he examined my belly, and told me the only surgery he could do for me was gastric bypass! When I asked if it would be open or laproscopic (lots of scar tissue from previous surgeries) he told me "Laproscopic of course...you don't need any more scars than what you have!" He shook my hand and told me he looked forward to seeing me soon, and turned me over to Whitney. She explained the steps I would need to take to make the surgery possible, and gave me all the info I would need. I was then turned over to Christine, and she not only numbered my priorities, but she gave me my date!! Of course, all this is pending my clearances, but I've already made my phone calls for appointments, so I am sure I will have no problem. Surgery is scheduled for November 30th at 10:30, so my last hurrah will be Thanksgiving Day!! Thank you everyone here for all the good words I've heard and read in the past. Debi.
