Curiosity Killed the Cat
ummm..when i started this process i said i wasn't going to eat the food that made me fat..but i was kinda wrong about that...through Sharon our Orlando group leader and OC's suggestion to which he told her - if it walks, swim, flys protein eat it! So originally I wasn't wanting to eat red meats but then discovered it was considered proteinand now im eating it and now also eating the yellow on the egg. I ate 2 full eggs and was FILLLING as if I had eaten a large meal. Which is great cause I was only eating the egg whites and was getting hungry before noon and snacking. Now I'm on track by trying more proteins and sticking with the 3 meals, 5oz Dr. OC wants - as far as tastes - nothing much has changed, except that I keep carbs away as much as possible. though I must admit most times I can not reheat foods cause they make me sick. I could drink protein drinks before now I can't. I can't salad greens or veggies (not that I liked them before anyway) but I think it might be the dressing that is making me sick... If i think of anything furter I'll post but I guess this is it for now.
I use to love sashimi but I can't eat it now.
I loved eggs...but not so much now.
I still love the taste of sweet things, I get that from the equal in my decaf coffee.
I too am into spicy. I make a pot of chili every week and spice it up!
I use to eat out all the time now I eat at home or bring my meals to work...that's very different for me.
I also crave soup.
My thought is that since I eat so little I want to really like what I do eat so if I taste something and don't like it I don't eat it.
Good question Amy! It was good to see you Saturday.

Hi Amy, Oh Boy has my tastes changed! I have never been a red meat person and still not. I do eat more steak than I did, love roast meat cooked untill it falls apart. Just started adding a "small" piece of baked potato to a meal now and then. Love any veggie, and can't get enough fruit! Cottage cheese is a main stay in my diet with fruit. Any cheese and fruit is soooo good.
Speaking of coffee, can't get enough! Like mine extra strong with half and half and sweatner. I know where all the Starbucks are located in Hillsbourgh county.
I can't eat much at a time, so still do 5-6 small meals a day. If it don't taste good, I don't eat it! Can't see wasting my meal on something I don't like. I just found out I tolarate sugar, so have to watch myself or back to the old habits! Had one bite size candy with kids this week! Lost my taste for ice cream. Pre-op I could eat the whole container!
Do like the cheesecake fron Cheesecake Factory. There is not one near me, so it is a real treat when I visit International Mall.

I am 4 wks Post Op. I am craving veggies! I am having a bit of problem and have to take meds for nausea just to take in my fluid each day - but food is not a problem, no nausea - just with the liquids only!
I am craving LIQUIDS! I used to be an avid Crystal Lite drinker and now its way too sweet, even diluted! But I switched to a different flavor this past week, and as of yesterday it sitting really well. I mix Tangerine Strawberry with 1/2 water, so its still quite diluted. Up until then I was taking in SF popsicles and chicken broth just to get in liquid.
Also had a taste of spicy and cant live w/o it! Been having a bit of HOT salsa with my Veggie Burgers and Spinach Nuggets from the Vegetarian Section!
Chili is a must have, and found that Smart Chili (Vegetarian) has the best spices in it!
Anything with Chocolate flavoring kills me now - used to be comfort food before. Too sweet.
I've been eating mozzerrella sticks up until yesterday - only thing I could eat. Yesterday I ate one and it turned my stomach. Like...ok you've had enough - please no more of these.
Of course, shrimp, fish, crab, any seafood is sitting well too. I like to endulge on this - I just tell hubby - HEY its high in protein! lol He likes it because our restaurant bills are lower already!
