Happy Hump Day! That's Wednesday for those of you who don't have your minds in the gutter ! I would like to issue a challenge to each of us for this coming weekend since the rain has stopped and we might actually have a pleasant weekend for a change. Recently, I re-energized my exercise program. Lo and behold ,the experts ARE right, my weightloss started up again, my energy picked up even more than before and I need less and less sleep these days. SO...I am issuing you ALL (my fellow pre and post op OH.com buddies) to do something active this weekend. Try something you havent done in a while ~ walk a little further, take a stroll after dinner with your hubby or pooch, take the clothes OFF the treadmill or exercise bike and actually get on it for a change (you know who you are, yes, I'm talking to YOU! ), take the kids on a hike, rent a canoe, actually GO to the gym rather than just give them your monthly fee, fill the air in the tires of the bike and hop on it, go for a swim, heck...just do something! Anyway, on Monday, I'd love to hear what you did and let's compare notes. I'm giving you all three days to talk yourselves into this . How many of you will join me in my challenge? how many of you will avoid responding ? how many of you may just re-energize your body and spirit by giving this a try??????????? Do we think I've had too much coffee already today?????? Have a great day, Friends! Happy Hump Day! Amy

I'm just now having first cup of coffee (Central time in my part of FL). Maybe I'll be better able to answer after I down a couple of cups. About the only part of your post I can relate to right now is the part where clothes are hanging on the exercise machine. You made some good suggestions. I will have to get back to ya! Betti

Well Amy by Beth's post I now realize you meant get the cloths off the tread mill, Not take off your cloth and get on the tread mill. They wouldn't like that at the Y. It just happens that the BBWofTampaBay.com group is having a End of Summer Picnic at Ft. DeSoto State Park (Shelter 13) on Sunday at 12 noon. All are Welcome! Just bring a dish to share and your own meats to grill. But it really hit close to our Journey since about half of the members had or are having WLS. Just hope the water's not to cold yet. So here's something for all to do. Mike

OK AMY!!! The clothes on the treadmill have only been there a couple days!!!! Okay, Okay, I will move them over to the ironing. I don't like to use it either. I actually prefer walking outside. Amy, you have given me inspiration to give myself a gift for my anniversary. I am going to "move this Body" this weekend. Not sure what or how but I will find something to get it moving and losing again. Thanks Amy, I needed that. Carol

I think your suggestions are superb Amy . In fact I had my treadmill moved to the living room so I could use it while the family watches TV. I walked to the mailbox yesterday and brought up the garbage cans part way before my back felt as though it would just snap in half. I think you are such an inspiration and maybe a post on every wednesday like this would be a motivator . I appreciate your post. Have a happy day, BrendaLee.

I am up for it. Monday I joined the gym. Was actually a bday present. But monday I lifted some weights and worked the treadmill for about 20 min. Tuesday I went swimming, and visiting my family. Today I am going back to the gym for the treadmill. Sooooo gotta go be back later.

Amy, I'm planning to do more exercise this weekend for sure! And just like Mike, I also thought you meant we should take our clothes off ourselves, not take our clothes off the treadmill. And as for the walk with the hubby and pooch, can I borrow someone else's hubby or do I have to have one myself?? Jan

Hi Amy, I'm in!! I have been wanting to start resistance training on these flabby, ugly arms of mine....so, this weekend is the time. I will pull out the resistance band and start using it for toning. Also found some tricep exercises in the OH Magazine that look easy enough for me to do. I have been using my elliptical trainer and am up to 8 minutes. My goal for the weekend is to do 10 minutes and get to 6 tenths of a mile. I am doing 1/2 mile on it now, so 2 more minutes will be just the kicker for me this weekend. It has been a slow process working my time up, but at least it is going up and not down Happy "HUMP" day to you too!! Lori 293/259.8/140

I actually started today re-energizing my exercise routine. I walked at the zoo....and we have a big one.....for an hour an a half.....I was walking at a pretty fast pace, too. Then I went to the beach and walked there. This weekend I plan to pull the bike out and ride and if the pool temp is still 80 I'll swim some, too. Thanks for the inspiration.....and challenge. luvitsunnyv
