Purple marks on my back.

Hi guys, I had an itch earlier this evening on my back and DD was scratching it for me when she noticed purple marks all over my upper back. She took a digital pic for me so I could see and I have to say I am very surprised at how big of a space it covers. It is my upper back all the way across in patches. It sort of looks like lines maybe or bruises? It does not hurt. I am so nervous because as most of you know, I just got approved and do NOT want any delays for surgery Any ideas? Thanx! Sallykate

Hi Sallykate I am not sure what the purple marks are. The itch I can relate to. I am post op though. I have had it in my lower back. Guess I will find out what is causing it maybe on the 19th. Could it be a rash of some sort, heat rash perhaps? Did you scrape your back or scratch it hard? Watch it, and perhaps stop by your primary doc to just have him have a look to ease your mind. If its nothing, than the surgeon doesn't have to know about it. Keep us posted! hugs, Tami
