Dr. mentioned a drain or tube....what is this?

After surgery you have two drains. One is a G tube that goes to your old stomach. That is there incase you can't eat foods after surgery, it usually stays in for two weeks post op. It can be irritating, and you'll be glad to have it out. The other is a jackson pratt tube that comes out before you leave the hospital. It drains fluids from the abodomen and surgery areas. It feels funny coming out, like a snake tube. Only takes a few seconds to come out though. Blessings, Tami
