QUESTION OF THE DAY...

Helllllo! Thank-you for all the roll call responses yesterday. It was great to meet so many of you for the first time and I wanted to say "welcome" to all of you who are new! We are glad your here and hope you'll hang around. How the heck did you wind up in Florida?? We're all Floridians on this board so.... were you born and raised here? Moved here? What's the scoop? Well I was born in Phoenix, AZ and my family moved to FL when I was 2. We then moved to Washington State and from there to Canada where I lived most of my childhood. When I was in high school my family moved back to FL and I finished High School and got married etc. My hubby was military so that is how he landed here. We have talked OFTEN about moving away from here but we just can't seem to get uprooted. It's coming up on 20 years that I have lived here. Sallykate

Hello! I was born in the armpit of the country (Camden, NJ) I then lived in Seattle for awhile. I moved to the burbs of Philly when I was 5 and lived there until after college at Penn State. After I graduated I moved here to sunny Florida! Kim

I was born in Kenosha, Wi., we lived in a few places in Wisconsin...Plover, Prescott and Spooner. At the age of 13 we moved to Upper Michigan and then at 16 I got married and moved to Germany. I came back to Upper Michigan when I was 18...went to college had my son and got married again. We moved to Florida when I was 25 that was back in 95. I did move to Texas from 2000 to 2002 to be with my current husband Troy, he was in the Army. My husband wants to move NY someday...I am still on the fence about that one. Tracey

Hey all, I was born in Chicago, then we moved to Colorado where I "grew up". I moved to Juneau, Alaska to go to College and lived there until October 2003 when I transferred with my job to Sunny Tampa! I love it here and plan to stay a loooooong time! Heather

Thanks for the roll call Sallykate, I enjoy them. I was born in Lancaster Ohio. From there we moved to guam. My father was in the military so we traveled. Our family is from N Fl. Some of our ancestors help found some of this area. My father retired here when I was in Jr high. Then I married a military man, and we traveled some more. But we ended up back home.

Hi Sallykate, Whew! Almost surgery day...6 days...I can't believe it. It seems like forever since I've been able to answer a QOD. Been busy helping my boss after his accident on 7/14. Let's see, I was born and raised in Annapolis, MD and lived there all my life until moving to FL in the fall of 1987. Moved to this area due to friends we would visit every so often down here. I wouldn't move back to Maryland or anywhere for anything in the world. I love it here (hurricanes and all). Hope all is well with you. Lori

Well, I was born in NJ and when I was 13 my dad was transfered to South Carolina. I lived there for 20 years and moved here to Orlando in 2000 so I could be closer to Omar who was living in Miami. I was born and raised in the town I live now. I did move away for a while and came back home. Macclenny is a bedroom community (you could say) to Jacksonville. I actually drive 47 miles one way to work. It is a small town, a good community to raise a family. My mom was raised in this area and my dad in a near by county. When he got out of the Navy, he went to work on one of the local bases and commuted to work in times when that was not common.

I was born in Malabar Florida and have lived most of my life in Florida or south Georgia. I can't imagine living anywhere else.. Kat
