Hello there!! I am moving from Rhode Island to southern Florida (west coast) on the first of August. I had my gastric by-pass done in Febuary of this year and I am concerned with follow-up care. I didn't know if anyone has moved to Florida and has had a similar situation. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to see another surgeon, a primary physician, or a specialist??? where in Florida are you moving to? I woudl start with follow up care with a family DR. then go from there. let us know if we can help

Welcome to Sunny Florida. (and since you will be moving in August....it is HOT, sunny Florida but remember, the winters are something to brag about....) If I can help your transition in any way let me know by email. I live in So.E. Florida (West Palm Beach,Fort Lauderdale, Miami, etc) and there are some good support groups in all of these areas.
