There are lots of things I learned from just reading the profiles of the peole on this site. So much of what we experience is similar and each one had good ideas and suggestions. I looked also for someone who was similar in start weight to me, and read their progress.
I hope you feel welcome here and I know you will learn alot. The people on this board are wonderfully supportive!
Blessings, Tami
When I did my researching I read a lot of profiles and looked at a lot of before and after pictures. I had my surgery 11 1/2 months ago, I was 327 the day of surgery and I am 158 pounds less today. I have gone from a tight size 26 jean to a size 8 jeans...4x shirts to medium. I feel like different person and I am so glad I did it. I did have stricture at 6 weeks, since then it has been smooth sailing.

Hi there...I had OPEN RNY 9/29 and have lost 108 lbs thus far at 9 almost 10 months - and what a 'ride". It was a bit rough in the beginning but I didn't have any complications. Recently I had gallbladder surgery due to it failing after RNY surgery but once that was done it has been okay. I am soo glad that I have done this..I have inspired many and many more have inspired me to continue my progress..though I'm having some slip ups due to job stress...which I will be changing jobs soon because I can not continue to mess all the hard work I have done. This is a struggle everyday - just cause you have surgery - it doesn't make every or anything rosy - you continue to struggles with what life throws ya...ya just have to figure way to not make food an outlet for yourself. I'm close to a year - and I can't believe it it's that long but it was all worth. This board keeps me grounded and I hope to helped other along the way. I hope we've help you decide - but I think you already know the answer! Good luck to you!
