On July 14th, 2004 I went under the knife for RNY I was 28 and weighed 520lbs. Truthfully I am pretty sure I was about 550lbs but their scales wouldn't weigh me so I will never know. My surgeon tells me I am about 40lbs. away from goal weight.
I can't even begin to explain how different my life is. The only thing I can say is that life is now a joy rather than a burden. I am doing things I never thought I would be able to do. I am dating again. I am more physically active than I have ever been.
I am still losing 10-15lbs a month thanks to continued diligence and I can't wait to see what I look like by christmas.
Thanks to Dr. Tenewitz, his counseler Lisa, and my PCP Dr. Balaji I am a new man.
Congratulations!!! I can certainly understand the joy you feel having a new life - that is what this surgery does for us and that is why so many people still want and need it to also be able to continue to enjoy their lives. I believe you have said the most important thing and that is to continue to keep diligence for the rest of our lives.
