Calling Dr Haicken's patients
Hey everyone, I received my last sleep study w/ cpap report late this afternoon, so I am off first thing in the morning to turn all my paperwork over to the surgeons office and get ready to wait for the call for my consult with Dr Haicken....now my question for those that are patients of the Doc's...how long did it take you to get your consult after you turned in all your paperwork??...just need some type of time frame to go with before I call and make a bother of myself...
...well I am one more step closer to having this surgery..I just know its gonna happen this time...thanks for any and all help I get...have a great weekend everyone....

Well good luck April... i was wondering did you ever change you medicaid plan after they denied you? or are you on reg medicaid? I think last time you said you had staywell of florida. Do you still have it.. Did they ever say why the denied you? just wondering because a friend of mine in orlando area had staywell and could not get the surgery because it was not a covered procedure.. just asking... maybe she did not tell me the truth about the matter but thats at least what she has told me...
Hi Emily, no I still have Staywell of Florida, I did change surgeons though and am very glad I did...this surgeon has been very more thorough then the last one with all the tests he had me go through....the other one I was going through didn't think I had sleep apnea so said a sleep study wasn't needed...this surgeon automatically sent me for one and guess what I have severe sleep apnea and need to be on a cpap...so I think it was just the surgeon that didn't care one way or another if I got approved because it was a medicaid hmo...but this one I am going through now truly cares...and also another girl going through Dr Haicken has Staywell and she had her surgery at the end of May so they are covering it and also the surgeon in Ft Lauderdale takes florida medicaid always...so I don't think she told you the complete truth...hope that helped you out

Hi there! i had Dr. haiken, and he was wonderful! I also have staywell, and they accepted me right away. Once I got everything turned in, they got me in for my consult within a week or two if I remember, and I was approved within 2 weeks also. If you did everything he requires you to do before surgery, they will submit it, and you will most likely get approved. Dr. Haiken is great, he is so caring and understanding.
