New to the board

Hello All, I just discovered this state board. I am pretty active on the post op pregnancy board, but never really looked here. A little history: I am 33 years old, pregnant with my second child (31 weeks) and I am 3 years and 1 month post op. I started my journey at 6' tall, 320 lbs size 4x. Before I got pregnant I was at 172 lbs and size 10. I have gained 12 lbs with the baby and feel terrific. My family and I (hubby and daughter (now 4) and two dogs) moved to Tampa in October of 2003 from Juneau Alaska. We moved with my work and we really like it here. I have my mom and stepdad in Naples, and hubby has two uncles in Clearwater. We haven't really met many people here and this is kind of depressing as we had lots of friends in Juneau. Just looking for others to talk to in the area maybe make some friends. Have a great day and thanks for reading! Heather

Welcome to Florida, Heather ! My goodness our summer weather must be quite a change for you coming from Alaska! I'm probably more your Mom's age and I live right in between you and her. Hi Heather! Welcome to Florida. I am a transplant here too, from Maine. I live in Fort Myers, so you pass me when visiting your Mom too. Congratulations on the pregnancy! A baby boy--how perfect. Meeting people is hard to do. I have made all my friends through golf. I believe there are some pretty active support groups in the Tampa area. I met some pretty neat people from your area while attending the OH conference in Orlando. How old is your daughter? When my kids were young I met everyone through them. Hmm--how did I meet people before kids and golf? We are planning some sort of get together in the Tampa area in October I believe--maybe we could meet then. or I go to Busch gardens every now and then cause we have passes--we could meet there, probably not a great idea for a pregnant lady!
