You can try some no sugar added spaghetti sauce and ricotta cheese mixed together. Throw a slice of mozerella cheese on it, put it in the microwave for 30 seconds to a minute until warm and bubbly. YUMMY Since you like Susan Maria's recipes, here's another one that I came to like a great deal... Ingredients: 1 lb. cooked salad shrimp, chopped 1lb. crab meat chopped(I use immatation) 1/2-1 C celery, diced VERY small, any strings removed 1/2 small onion Diced very small Low Fat Ranch dressing Mayo. (I use Hellman's Light) Toss first 4 ingredients to mix well. Add just enough Ranch to wet it. Add Mayo a little at a time until creamy. Chill. Serve with crackers or if your like me, skip the crackers and eat with a fork LOL. I would just skip the celery, I just used celery salt. This is also good to put on mashed potatoes, etc... I made several casseroles and just put them in the blender. Chicken breast, fat free cream of chicken soup and some garlic powder in a crock pot. I added broccoli. Once done I put it in the blender and made this nasty looking green mush, but it tasted GOOD...had about 1/2 cup for a meal. I also made roast in the oven with potatoes and carrots...and used a fat free gravy mix. Cut it into small pieces and blended it...again yummy. And for a cool treat....I small box of SF lime jello...stir with boiling water as per box instructions. Add 1 can drained crushed pineapple in juice, (chill it so it acts as the cold water part of the instructions), add 1 small container of cottage cheese....blend and poor in glass 8x8 dish to cool in frig. Hi Jen, I don't know about you but I'm not allowed to eat that type of stuff that WildCat Lady recommended (no offense Wildcat) for at least 14 days post-op and as far as the crackers go I was told not to have ANY starches for at least 1 year. Again, this was what I was told. I was also given a secret I should freeze 3 trays of old fashioned ice cube trays with my purees and viola I have it all ready! I have prepared roasted chicken or turkey. dark or white meat does not matter just make sure there is NO FAT on it. After I cooked it with spices, I then pureed it with some chicken broth (also spiced up). I heat it up in the micro. It might look gross but tastes fine. You can have most all spices so just spice up your foods. Be careful of the cheeses (milk content) ~ I also made a egg frittata with green and yellow peppers, onions and after it is baked, I keep it in the fridge over night and then just cut slices and puree and then heat in micro what I'm able to eat. Again, it might look gross BUT just close your eyes. I use Carb Countdown instead of milk. ~ I also make egg & tuna fish salad, or chicken salad and spice them all up and puree. These salads I again blend like a pate and eat cold with a fork. ~ I've heard so many good things about the MAGIC BULLET than I went on e-bay and bought one. Only to find that they are on sale on HSN this week! Oh well. HSN is selling a 19 pc set and I purchased a 21 piece. Mine had a juicer and an actual blender. The base is so powerful that it chops ice and makes smoothies too! No I do not sell the item! Nor do I have stock in it! ha ha Just thought I'd pasas along the info. Well good luck to you! ~ Judie ~ I know what you're thinking, But I have tried all of these pre-op to get used to it. AND guess what ..... it's not bad. I hope these helped.
