BCBS of FL Anyone's tips for Surgery approval??

Unless your company has purchased a rider, BCBSFL stopped covering WLS 01/01/05.

Loucinda- I had BCBS of Florida ---but over 4 years ago. All I can tell you was I was approved on the 1st letter. They were wonderful for me. Hope you have the same luck

I also have BCBS, I had my surgery in 2004. And they stopped approving 1/1/05 from everything I have seen as well. I have heard but do not know if it is true, that some have been approved since. But I do not know why or how.

I have BCBS of FL and had to hire a lawyer obeistylaw.com (which are wonderful) to get my approved in 2004. They was supposed to stop paying for the surgery as of January 2005. Wishing you the best.
