Hello, I am new to the area. I had medial gastric bybass on March 29, 2005. Currently I am down 75+lbs. Is there anyone out there that can help me with looking for a support group? Thank you for your time. pamala

Dear Pamela----Welcome to the area. I know you were asking for a local support group...unfortunately the closest one to me is in Orlando, So I dont attend. I am east of Brandon about 30-40 mins. I live just next to Lakeland in Mulberry. Sorry I couldn't help you more...but I just wanted to welcome you...If you need a semi-local friend...let me know, btw---CONGRATULATIONS on a great weight loss thusfar!................JOY

Pamala, Welcome to the area! There is a support group meeting at Tampa General Hospital the third Tuesday of every month. It is from 7-9pm. With the exception of this month. If your interested in more information please feel free to email me! Karee

I'm told that it's a lot of work to start and maintain those meetings, and I can't say that I have the time.-smile I did have someone respond and tell me that there was a support group at Tampa General every 3rd Tuesday of trhe month, so I think that I am going to try and attend that one for now.
