Ever Notice the hurricanes that hit Pensacola are MEN names...

I just think its funny that Ivan and Dennis are hitting Pensacola.... MEN ARE NO GOOD..... Just thought I'd try to make light of yet ANOTHER hurricane!!!! I live on base in Pensacola and we are having to evacuate... To everyone in this area...PLEASE BE SAFE!!!!!!!!!!! talk to ya soon... Lori

Lori, They are already evacuating you guys? WOW! We are @ Hurlburt Field (FWB) and have not heard anything as of yet. My hubby said that they are getting the planes out of the way, but has not heard of evacuation yet...I think it is still too soon. We have "Ivan the Terrible" and now, possibly "Dennis the Menance". Lori, Do you have to be out by 6:00 Saturday evening? If so, I would suggest that you guys try to head out before that. We had to evacuate for Ivan last year and we went to family in Orlando, and a drive that normally takes us 6 1/2 hours, took us a little more than 11 hours to get there because of all the traffic. I told my hubby that if we have to evacuate, we are going to go to St. Augustine and make a weekend of it. I'm gonna pack up my important things tonight, so that when the order to evacuate comes down, we can head out of dodge......Again, be safe where ever you guys go. Take care, Beth

No, Lori, I don't think it's funny, but I'm a total baby about storms!! I hate the hurricanes and feel terrible for the panhandle who not only got Ivan, but this year had tropical storm A... AND C..... and now Dennis!!! They can't catch a break!! Everyone stay safe!! Jan -101

Lori--My husband and son are both named Dennis. Hopefully-it won't hurt any of us and fizzle out. Ya just never know with these things.

I completely udnerstand what you are going thru Lori....were not but a couple of hours from Pensacola. My in-laws live there and yhey told me hubby that they were gonna leave most likely. We are monitoring it closely to for I too remember what kinda of a but Ivan was too last year. Hopefully I want be stuck at work when this happens. Take care and be wary of Dennis..
