Expected weight loss?
Had my rny 5/25/05 with start weight 210, and preop weight of 203. Down 24.75 lbs as of today (31.75 since my start weight)
Averaging a 2 lb loss over the last few weeks. Walking 3 miles 3-4 times a week, and no rice, breads, just protein, fruit and veges. My goal weight is 122 per my doc.
Getting almost all my water in and meeting protein requirements. The question is whether a 2 lb loss weekly is reasonable, too little, too much and will that slow down?
Thanks for your help!
Blessings,
Tami
Hey Tami,
I had my wls 6/20/05 and am down 25 pounds now. I lost 17 pounds the first week, 6 pounds the second and then when I weighed in the 15th day, it showed I gained 3 POUNDS!!! Couldn't understand that one!!! Then the next morning showed I lost that 3 pounds and 2 more. This is REALLY a crazy ride right now. I am trying not to weigh myself every morning...but it is hard not too. Sounds like you are doing everything right and I think you'll do fine. (You don't look like you needed surgery to start with! I would have been happy to look like you!
)
It is fun to see the scale go from 274 at initial weigh-in to 262 pre-op then into the 250's, 240's and now into the 230's...high 230's, but 230's none the less! I went from morbidly obese, to severly obese and am on the cornerstone of just being obese! YEAY!!!!
Where is Winter Park at? I'm new to P'Cola and don't know all the cities yet...
Good luck!!!! Laurie P

Hey Laurie, good job on the weight loss!!! Kinda odd that we are both rejoicing to be called "obese"!! Anything is better than Morbidly obese, when I was told that I cringed and knew I had to do something!!
I am a navy brat, born in Pensacola. Winter park is outside of Orlando, about 1 hour from Disney. Nice area.
Just got back from walking 2 miles and biking 3. I hate exercise, but know I need to do it. I was told a neat website, check it out www.thinnerself.com. On it you can chart your progress and see if you are losing slowly at expected rate or fast. It was facinating, and encouraging at the same time.
You are right, this is a crazy ride, but I'm glad to be on it with you!
Blessings,
Tami
