airforce after WLS

has anyone joined the military after WLS? if so... any advice on what and how to do it? alexa

i really dont think you can. they want an extensive background of your medical history and i believe if you've had any serious surgeries, you can not join, but i am not 100% sure about that. Lynn

This very topic is what made my choice to have the surgery so hard ..... I was told that I would not be allowed in If I had the surgery because they could not take the risks ...they said that sometimes they have trainig and in the feild they cannot treat anuone diffrent and our dietary needs would be diffrent .. they also really do not want to have to make sure that we have all the supplements we need in times of crisis and if we do not have these things that our health is at risk in thier eyes and that it is a risk that they do not want to take and would not be helpful to the purpose of the military .... I called several places and even had my brother who is in the military ask the doctor and he said that we wold be dq( disqualified ) for medical reasons although there are peolp in the miltary that had the surgery after the fact of joining ????? figure that one out ..... fell free to ask any ?? and what I do not know I will ask my brother --- MIsty
