Daughter having WLS surgery today
Hey there, Florida board...Although I am Florida born and bred, I am living in Dallas, TX now. I just had to pop over here this morning to ask for prayers for my wonderful daughter who live in Jacksonville...she is in surgery right now to begin her new life. When she first told me about this web site and that she wa considering the surgery, in my attempt to be fully supportive of her, I learned as much as possible about the surgery. As I listened to my words of encouragement and support for her, I realized it applied to me, too. So, she is responsible for "teaching" her mother that a new life is possible. I had my surgery 4 months ago Sunday...and Jenn is having hers today.
I deeply regret that I could not be there today but my spirit surrounds her. I spoke to her this morning as she and her husband pulled into the hospital parking lot. She was excited and nervous and ready to get on with it.
Thanks for any prayers you send her way (and her surgeon's!)
Best to all of you...
Donna
Thanks for the kind words...I spoke with her husband earlier and she is out of the recovery room and into her hospital room. He said her doc said all went well. I understand that she is quite groggy and sleeping much off and on.
I know she will keep the board informed when she is back home.
Thanks...Donna
Kim...thanks for your willing and generous spirit. Jenn is out of surgery and in her room...I haven't spoken with her because she is pretty groggy. Her husband said the doc told him she did very well with the surgery. Whew....this is SO good to hear. I am so very excited about all the good things she has waiting for her as soon as she finishes with healing. She is highly motivated...and her doctor "made" her lose 30 pounds to get ready for the surgery (to show just how motivated she was to be able to follow the new way of eating afterwards!).
I believe she is going home tomorrow so thanks for the offer to visit...and since today she is pretty groggy, I think I'll just hope you two run into each other at a support group meeting.
You are a very nice person!
Donna
