COST OF LAP BAND SURGERY

I am in South Florida, and I have to pay for the lab band surgery myself. Just started checking and looks like its $16,000+ locally. I did some research on Mexico, and looks like that is about $8,000 (found some deals for $6500 that upon checking are really not deals). Does anyone knows of any deals out there from reputable surgeons? Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. Thanks and hoping to join the ranks of the skinny soon...LOL.

I have no idea about the costs or anything else connected to the lap band. But-- I have seen messages posted here in the past from people who had the band put on in Mexico or somewhere else and then had trouble finding a local Dr. who would do the fills, or could not afford the fills. So if you are considering this -- do your homework and find a local doc that will do the fills BEFORE you go out of the country or out of state and spend all that money. I hope it works out for you. You might want to check out the lap band forum, I am sure you will get good information there or I believe there is a south of the border forum.

I know that my mom had her lapband surgery with Dr. Grossbard in Zephyrhills. I know that she paid approximately $16k but that include all of the pre-op testing, the surgery, the hospital, and one year of post-op. Please feel free to email me and I can get you info on him. Karee
