Well my entire family gets together at my Grandpa's. He lives on the intracoastal in Edgewater. It's sooooo.... nice. We all swim, laugh and remember all the wonderful memories. I am sooooo... lucky to have such a great family. The 4th will be the last time my family sees the "old" Jen. My surgery is 7/6. So, this 4th means alot of mixed emotions for me. Well.....my most memorable 4th was about 18 years ago....at my house...family picnic by the pool....I had 2 wolves who were sweet and the kids loved them. A tiny kitten came thru the chain link and I saw it and the little kiddies saw it about the same time as the male wolf. He got to the kitten first....and I was right behind him...he had the kitten in his mouth by that time....well, I grabbed his jaws and opened them...the kitten dropped and ran. I don't know who was more shocked...me or the wolf! You just didn't interfere if he had 'food' in his mouth...no way no how. But I couldn't let the kids see what would have surely happened. That same day....I had made a 'dirt' cake. I made it in a plastic flower pot. It was soooo cute. I put oreos in the food processor and it looked just like potting soil. So I line up all 3 kids. Told them I would give any kid $1 if they would take a bite of 'dirt'. Both boys (7 and 5) started backing up. But my Shanny, who was 4....took a deep breath and stepped right up. I said ok, here we go. And she opened her mouth. Her little eyes lit up when she tasted the oreos and whipped cream....and she got all the dollars. Then I told her she could always trust me. I would never ever do anything or give her anything that would hurt her. She graudates from college this August with a double major.....and she still trusts and loves her Aunt Charlotte. I have pictures of me on that fourth...by the pool that day. It scares me to look at them. Some of you reading this saw them in Orlando. They are in my before album. Not sure what I'll be doing this year. Probably going to the get together here at the condo. But everything will center around food. So I am trying to find something else to do....fireworks on the beach maybe. Hugs Charlie

Hi, my plans were having dinner with friends from work, cooking some old family favs like baked beans, and making some new favs like cheesecake with splenda. Unfortunately, most of my memories of the 4th are of redneck neighbors letting of fireworks all day and night and being scared of them. But I also, remember always walking down to the stadium for the show. In recent years, I was annoyed by the huge crowds gathered for what are now fireworks that suck, I would just avoid them all together. But this year, it was SOOOO nice to go sit on the beach and watch the show.
