First of all.....congrats on your 21 pounds! That is awesome. Now as for being nornal, well you have to remember we are all different in losing weight. This person may lose 30 pounds while the other person may have only lost 40. Don't be discouraged by this....make it your motivation. Are you following your doc. orders? Are you making sure that you are getting your water in and how about protein? Again even with all this you have to remember that we are all different as far as weight loss...GIve yourself a chance. Your body is still going through the shock of having surgery. Great success to you FLorida Girl! Becky

Hi there - no you're not doing anything wrong. I lost only 18 lbs in the first 2 weeks after my surgery. One thing that you can not do regarding this surgery is compare yourself to others though we may have gone through similar cir****tances. Some people with more weight to lose do lose it quickly and some are slow losers - like me. I feel others in my same time frame have lost more than me - and I work out and eat right right etc. This is a lifelong process and we all have to work at it for a life time (or that's my thinking anyway). So there is no hurry to meet someone else's goals. You keep doing things at YOUR pace and I promise the weight will come off. Additionally, you're still fresh from surgery and you're body is still adjusting to the changes - believe me at 9 months - my body is still adjusting. Take this time to develop good eating habits or makes changes to better your life. Water is always a good thing...drink as much as you can. Keep up the good work. And don't look at the scale everyday, choose a day and time every week and check it that way. In the beginning, I was always checking the scale every other day and it drove me crazy - now I do it once or twice a week in the mornings.

Hey Florida Girl, Congrats on losing 21 pounds! That's still very good. You say you went to your post-op visit, then what did your Dr. have to say about it? Follow your surgeon's instructions carefully and you should be fine and don't compare yourself to others...eveyone is unique. Take care
