hi everyone, well I just got home a little bit ago from having my second sleep study to get fitted for the cpap machine......I never had such a horrible night of sleep in my life...I HATE the machine..I haven't stopped sneezing since I took the machine off my nose...I DON"T LIKE IT I DON"T LIKE IT I DON"T LIKE IT....ok now thats off my chest....this was the last test I had to complete for me to turn all my paperwork into the surgeons office......I got my report from the gastronologist yesterday with for the surgery...he said the GERD I had would clear up with the weightloss and that it was the best decision I could have made for myself...so now I wait for my follow up next week with the pulminologist to get my sleep study reports and off to the surgeon I go with the paper work and wait for my consult...so keep your fingers crossed all...have a great day!!! Hey there, I have a cpap. I use nose pillows instead of the mask. Much better for me. I also use an attachment that keeps me moist. A humidifier I think they call it. That may help with the sneezing. I wasn't fond of it at first, however, it really will help you sleep better and you will feel better in the morning. Hope this helps. Wishing you the best.

Hi Phyliss, thank you for the reply...that is what they fitted me for was the nose pillows...I couldn't do the nose mask...I hate anything on my face...and they did have the humidifer on...my poor nose is raw from sneezing and blowing it all day...so much for puffs with aloe...lol...anyway thank you and as soon as I get my own machine in my own bed maybe then it will be ok April

There are other fittings that are suppose to be more comfortable to wear on your face for sleeping. Perhaps someone out there can help with that? If I come across the advertisement on the radio I'll let you know. Good thing, after surgery you should be able to say goodbye to cpap after a while? You've been doing a great job April in hanging in there, keep up the good work! Hugs! Blessings Tami

Hi Tami , thank you for your reply, the hanging in there has been the hard part but just by using that cpap machine last night...I know without any shadow of a doubt that I need and want this surgery because I want to be healthy and be able to breath when I sleep without a machine....thanks for all the good wishes and the help.. April I am so happy you are getting closer to surgery. I didn't have sleep apnea and never heard of it till I came to this board but I can say I had much difficulty sleeping (asthma) and with reflux and now I am free of both problems. I had a hiatal hernia repair during surgery as well. I am so happy I had this surgery and I know you will be too.
