Question of the day...
Have you ever traveled outside of the United States? Where did you go and did you like it there? If not then where would you like to go?
As most of you know, I grew up in British Columbia Canada from age 7 to about 15. I loved it there but would not want to live there now. Mostly for political reasons.
I am probably going to India next spring. I would have gone this past October but my health and weight issues hindered that. I am hoping that after surgery this year I can travel more.

When I was a kid we went fishing in Canada at Lake of the Woods, that was my first time out of the country. I lived in Germany during the late 80's and visited Austria during that time. Also 2 weeks ago we drove thru Ontario and stopped at Niagara Falls, and entered back in the USA at Port Huron.

I have been to Italy for 2 weeks. It was very beautiful. The fruit is the best that I've ever had. Peaches the size of oranges and when you bite into it the juices just run down your chin. Yummy.....We traveled - Rome, Pisa, Venice, Florence. The fountains are beautiful, along with all the tourist stuff.
I was very homesick. Theres no place like home.
I also went to Bahamas. It was lovely. I love blue water....vacation time?

To me, Miami is outside the USA.
Other than that I have been to Canada, once. I have family in Detroit, and that is where my sister had her bone marrow transplant. So my mom and I went to visit some family and went to Lake Huron, then decided to drive across to Canada and drive back to Detroit on the Canadian side...no problem right?...well except it was a LAKE not a river so the Canadian side was like a half circle and much farther distance than the US side. And the idea of just turning right across the bridge and driving didn't work, we were so lost and ended up on a dirt road, once we stopped seeing telephone and electric poles we realized we needed to turn around. We stopped on Pelican Island, and took a ferry across to the US and hit the highway we came up on. The border people asked if we had stayed in the time we had stated when we originally crossed, ummm no like 4 hours extra. I still joke that my mom lost me in Canada!

Growing up in downeast Maine, I was able to cross the border into Canada quite often. I used to go shopping frequently in St. Stephen,NB and used to travel to St.John,NB ocassionally. I absolutely LOVE King Cole tea and Crosby Molasses, which neither you can buy in the south! So, everytime I "go home" for a visit, I go shopping in Canada!

I just figured all that up the other day hoping that the college I applied to will give my credit for a cultural awareness class.
As a child we took a vacation to Canada -- Niagara Falls area.
At age twenty I took a job in London for the summer and ended the three months "hitchhiking" in France and Germany and stopped in Iceland on the way back to USA. My next trip out of the country was to Cancun, Mexico in 1992. In 1993 my husband and I went to London, Amsterdam and spent two weeks in the Holy Land as part of our church's continuing education program for their ministers. We returned to Cancun, Mexico i***** 1995 and 1996. In 1996 we also spent two weeks in Europe: England, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Holland, France. We then transferred to Miami in Jan. 1997 and went to the Bahamas in May, 1997 and Jamaica July 1997. May of 2000 I spent a week in Mexico City, Mexico. In April,2003 I took a "solo" cruise which took me to Conzumel, Mexico. In August with my DH this time we took a cruise to St. Maartin, St. John, and Puerto Rico. I think that is it, so far. I'm hoping we go on another cruise soon.
It's always good to come back home to the good ole US of A. God bless America!

I went to Cancun, MX for my senior spring break in '99. It was AWESOME!! Definitely a must for a highschool senior!! Other than that, my "rewedding" is in December in France (where my husband is from). We had a small wedding here, but no one could attend because all his family lives overseas. I can't wait!! My little sister and her fiance just left for Costa Rica for 2 months and says she thinks they are going to stay there...hmm...who knows? Maybe we'll wind up staying in Europe!
