Jax Support Group Meeting

Hi All! I don't want you all to think we (Sallykate and I) forgot about resuming the meetings. SO...We've got a date picked out for now, but the where and time will come a little later. Mark Saturday July 16th down on your calendars. After this initial meeting, we're planning on having them the last Saturday of the month. We're still working on a place, something indoors since it's so HOT! Once we have worked out all the details, we will be sure to make another annoucement. HUGS Kim

Hi guys! Kim and I are looking forward to resuming the meetings and have come up with some fun ideas for us to interact with one another on. The first meeting will really be about acquainting and reacquainting with one another and finding out where each of you are at in your journey. We look forward to meeting with all of you and spurring each other on along our journey! Any newbies out there are welcome to come join us for some fun and fellowship with fellow WLS people. What are some of the things you've done at the meetings?

Sallykate and I didn't run the meetings before. The lady who was running them before has been busy with work, etc., so we have decided to ipck up the meetings. We plan on various activites, like maybe a quarterly barbecue, having different people speak about their experiences, etc. We're just getting together our ideas and making our first meeting next month.

I live in Jacksonville and saw your post about a support group. Would you give me a little more information, please. I know the date and the place will be announced and you're thinking of quarterly "parties" but what about the meetings. Are the attendees pre op and post op patients for bypass and lap band surgeries? I'm just curious s to what's what and may be interested in attending. How will I find out just where the meeting will be? Check here?
