Hello Everyone, ok, here is my dilema, I just changed to an insurance that will cover the surgery, however, it turns out the surgeon and now my primary care physician aren't on the policy! Now I've got to start all over with another physician before july 1st and find a surgeon who accepts HUMANO HMO CHOICE. I need to get it all done before sept because we're changing the insurance in september to Anthem, which covers obesity surgery with even less pre-operative bs than anyone else so far! Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks. I'm currently going thru the surgeon list for the state of florida and cross-referencing it with my insurance listings but there is nothing like word-of-mouth!

I don't know if this helps but my surgeon was awesome and in Fort Lauderdale. I had Dr. Wayne English as my surgeon. His number is 954-739-5531. He does the surgery at Florida Medical Center off of Oakland Park Blvd. I don't know if he takes your insurance but check it out. Good Luck! Christine 307/170/150

Thanks Christine, Dr English is awesome, he was the surgeon that I was refering too in this posting. If anyone, I'd go with him, but he isn't an option anymore, he doesnt accept my insurance. UPDATE: I just faxed my info over to Dr. Marema's office (U S Bariatrics), does anyone know if they accept physician supervised diets by another doctor or do they make you go thru thier diet programs prior to surgery? Thanks. I'd appreciate any info/personal experiences with Dr Marema's office.

Hey Momma...I know it might be a ways for you - but if you wanna check out my doc, Wm Todd Overcash. He's in Ocala, though blunt -he's a great surgeon and I know his office staff goes through hoops to get insurance approval - and he doesn't have alot of pre-requisites -just nutrition class, stress test (over 40) and 2 letters acknowledging risks. Wish you luck!

DEAR Momma- I had Dr. Marema over 4 years ago. I did have to show that I was on several diet plans but nothing through Dr. Marema's office. I was on Phen Phen...and weigh****chers. and several other home diets. Thats all. Like I said it was 4 years ago(not sure it hasn't changed)....My sister had hers 2 years ago and same thng for her. she just listed Phen phen and was accepted. Again we both had Dr. marema and neither one of us has had any problems. Hope this helps....JOY

I have a surgery date scheduled July 22nd with Dr. Marema. So far everyone there has been wonderful. I really researched Dr. Marema before going to him. MY PCP reccomeded him and I have not heard one negative thing about him, only rave reviews! HTH!
