WE HAVE A DATE!

My husband and I are having WLS on June 30th of this month. We were approved by Cigna HMO on the first round! Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers on this date. Our surgery will be at Ocala Regional Medical Center and our Dr. is Dr. Overcash. We are fortunate to have my sister who is a nurse to be helping us as she has worked on a bariatric floor of a hospital and specifically helped to care for gastric bypass patients. Thank you all for your prayers and support.

Thank you! No Sarah, fortunately for us my husband's employer covers the surgery which I know is very rare these days it seems.

You both are in good hands with Dr. Over cash and the hospital. He was my surgeon and thats the hospital I stayed in. No complaints. Good luck to ya both.

Hi Kim, Dr Overcash is my surgeon too. I will be having surgery on 8/3/05 and I have a question. When did you have pre-op labs drawn for your surgery? Was there any problems before your surgery date to stop the progress? Just curisous. Lori

They did mine the morning of surgery. Everything was fine and was rolled into surgery. Now with that said, I have heard of people having them done the same day too and the results not being good so surgery was postponed. So it depends on the results. Good luck.

Darla, I am so happy for you both! Glad you were able to get the date in June. I know you were hoping for that. I wish you both speed in your recoverys and the time is going to fly by. My surgery date is for 8/3 and it is only 7 short weeks away. Whew!! I don't know if I could handle it if it was any sooner. Keep us posted and please let me know how you like Dr O after your surgery is completed. I just love the office staff, they are wonderful each time I call. Lori

Congrats on you both getting your date...in fact I remember you posting a few months ago and was curious about what happened. I once found a website where a husband and wife had surgery the same day...maybe I posted this before but anyways, they posted pics together in the same poses. You could watch them fit together better and better as the months went by. Tracey
