Cholecystectomy...

that's gallbladder removal in layman's terms. Had 2 incidents with the 2nd one ending me being at the hospital for a 24hr admit to find out what was causing the pain in the abdominal area near the gallbladder and they couldn't "find" anything - and this is a GI specialist who said that. All he said was "there are no stones just sludge in your gallbladder"....well Dr. Overcash only needed to hear sludge and he knew it was the problem right away..he said that it has to come out...and I said - I was afraid you were gonna say that! So Im scheduled for surgery (can you believe it???) for next Wednesday. This doc works fast - I just hope not so fast something happens - just kidding...if he could handle and do well.. my first and major surgery I first trust in God and then in him to do it right. Keep you guys posted next week.

Hi Ruth, I had this surgery before WLS. It is not bad and i went home the next day. You will be fine and pain free by wednesday night. God Bless you! Christine

Ruth, I too had my gallbladder removed before WLS. It was done laproscopically, no pain and the recover time was quick. I'll keep you in my prayers. Your new picture is GREAT! Be well. Rhonda
