Last week of "real" food!!!
Hi everyone. I have changed my screen name from Jennifer White to Florida Cracker born and bred. So... this is my last week of "real" food.
everyone says that I will be able to eat some of them after my surgery.... BUT this is the hardest decision I have ever made!!!
I know I am making the very best decision for my health, but dang I love food!!! I am very excited about my surgery in July. I hope someone else has felt the same way I do. All I can do now is ask God for the strength to help me with the next few weeks.
PLEASE...... everyone say a little prayer as I prepare for my new life!!!!!
Hugs,
Florida Cracker born & bred

Jennifer - don't say that!!! You will experience real food again. I remember that I was gong ho for my surgery and when I had the nutrition class - I started to doubt whether I should do this or not - and then it dawned on me - hey this is temporary!!! So I say to you - this is temporary and for a reason. Get those soups, yogurt and liquids ready. There is nothing to "worry" about in terms of food - remember that food is what has got us into trouble in the first place. I did love lots of fatty, greasy foods. Thought I would miss it - some foods I do but for the most part I'm MORE happy with my decision of having the surgery and changin my eating habits and exercising. The surgery is a tool. It will only work if you start developing good eating habits and exercise - and I mean for a lifetime. Many people as they are out in months or years get back into bad habits and can gain the weight back. Even I in the very beginning said - no breads, pastas, etcs as far as carbs and though for the MAJOR part I do obstain but sometimes I find myself in places where there is no other choice but to eat what is availabe and so in getting with good eating habits - I just have a minimal amount of whatever is available. Well, sorry I got off topic.....but anyway - congratulations that your surgery date approaches...don't forget the lip balm and think happy thoughts and what new and wonderful changes you will gradually experience as your experiences goes on...I'm now getting down to buying nicer sexier clothes and loving it. So, I do pray that you will receive strength during the coming weeks!
